So if you had a vote at Ruger, what would you like to see them build next? Here are my votes...

I kind of wish I had something to add to the list, but after recently selling two Blackhawks and a 3" GP100 I'm left with a couple of KLCRs (my daily CC), a 3" SP101, a 4" GP100, 4.2" Redhawk and a custom SRH Alaskan so I think I'm good. As @MaxP mentioned, if Ruger doesn't make it there's always a chance to have something custom made which is way cooler.

I know this is in the revolver forum, so my first will be a revolver. I'd like to see a lightweight Blackhawk. I remember several years ago a company had one called the Dragonfly ( I think) but never made it out into the world.

The other would be a single shot target pistol.

I'd like to see a convertible .22lr/.22mag LCRx with a 3" barrel.

Now if we get to pick other categories, I'd also like an AR-762. Actually make that an AR-762 MPR.

Since this is the revolver sub-forum, a break-top chambered for (and safe with) .357 Mag.

Now, someone should start a similar thread under "Rifles".

If Ruger is going the economy route with guns like the Security 9 and Wrangler, then maybe an economy line of DA and SA center fire revolvers.

I'd love to replace my GP100 and my Vaquero but that's doubtful for my forseeable future at current new prices

A steel-framed LCR and LCRx.

Maybe it's just me, but my SP101's have horrible triggers and my LCR has a great one.

I would gladly buy something made of steel, with sights and trigger as good as my LCR.

Strictly revolvers? It would start with a new cartridge with a belted case. Belts are the original improvement on rimmed straight-wall cases, and they allow more chambers within the circle of a cylinder while maintaining a minimum cylinder diameter yet still headspacing properly even with a rolled crimp. I believe this was first innovated on straight-walled cases by H&H but has been implemented in a revolver previously by FA with the 500 WE. I propose such a case of a diameter for 0.400" bullets and 1.29" case length.

Using this new cartridge, I propose a revolver with a cylinder of diameter the same or similar to a Redhawk or S&W N-frame with seven chambers. Even the smaller N frame would chamber seven, whereas an L frame or GP-100 would hold six, and even a K-frame would hold five. But I propose a large revolver, not like the Redhawk and with novel features. One such feature would be the automatic ejection of moon-clips upon fulling opening the yoke. It could be accomplished with a spring-loaded ejector rod. Because rimmed cases are not used, the conventional spider would be omitted. Unintentional ejections could be prevented with a positive detent that would be overcome by the weight of the cylinder falling unimpeded. With the Ruger push-button cylinder release, this would allow the strong hand to maintain a firing grip during reloading and the support hand would only need to bring the new clip to the cylinder and close it. We've seen eject-on-open in the past with top-breaks, so this also isn't entirely novel.

That's all I have for free revolver advice.

For handguns, I propose some factory Ruger No. 1 handguns. For handgun hunting, this would beat the hell out of revolvers.

For autoloaders, a compact single-stack nine. By compact, I mean at least as big as a G48 but it could have a longer frame.

For rifles, MPR in 6.5 Grendel. It seems logical to do a Mini-30 in Grendel, but there is no point, so like the one in 6.8 SPC it would be a waste of time.

My wish is pretty simple. I wish they would redesign the single six with a lighter weight frame and Matt finish. Fixed sights would be OK too. Nothing fancy. Just a good inexpensive knock about gun for rough use in a boat, tractor or truck gun. A simple gun for new guys that could be bought for $200 or less. I would be all over that.

5" 5 shot 41 magnum GP100. I have wrote Ruger and Lipseys several times trying to get them to make it. To me, it is the Ultimate woods packin pistol anywhere in U.S. except where u might run into big bear.
