Not really hunting but they were caught on my game camera.

My wife said I’m not nice for building this but I’m sure she would rather me enjoy watching them than play “What’s in this soup?”

I think they think it’s fun anyway in the last video they are lining up for a turn.

I love it! Gonna have to build me one of those in the back yard! Got an infestation of them doggone "tree-rats" around here.

Last year, one chewed a hole in the soffit of my garage and during the mating season one female was being chased by every male in the neighborhood. I noticed the hole in house when she dove through it to get away from them.

Immediately I grabbed a chunk of fine mesh hardware cloth and closed off the hole. Next morning I happened to be outside when the chase was on again. This time, the female dove for the hole and bounced off the hardware cloth. As she hit the ground stunned, I wish I'd had a video camera to catch the sequence. If squirrels have expressions on their faces, her's certainly would be one of "What the heck happened to my refuge?".

Nowhere is it written that you have to be fair, reasonable or nice. What's on the end?
Made the mistake of storing some extra rims for my old Samurai on my balcony. Tree rats are living in 'em now. Chase each other around the screen door and made an orange size hole in the screen. Was laying on the couch a few weeks back and noticed movement under the TV table. Yep. One of 'em popped in for a visit. Beat feet out when I stood up. Fortunately, the cat wasn't in attendence. Too old for that much excitement. snicker.

What's on the end?

I use ½ of a corn cob on the platform (to get them used to eating there) and the other half on the “pointer”. I made it from a leftover cedar fence picket. I screwed a long deck screw into the end of the picket then ground the head off so I had something to retain the cob on the end.
