I can't even pick a fight with the Taliban and I've almost been here a year...I guess I'm just not worth shooting at?
Well, to all of us in America you're worth a lot, so just get home safe and sound.

When I was at Bagram AB last year the 10th Mountain was the main Army unit there. I believe their tour was for 1 year plus but their could be various reasons for a shorten tour.

I was at Camp Rhino in Afghanistan for only 45 days.

That's how long our tour was before we were relieved.

So sometimes that's how it goes.

But his story does sound fishy. However, some guys do like talking about body counts and stuff like that, others don't.

Wasn't that just the dustiest, dirtiest, fithiest, (did I mention it was dusty) place you've ever been? Before Rhino, I didn't know dust could be that fine. It was like brown baby powder. The fact that there were no showers or running water of any type didn't help, did it? I was happy to get to Kandahar, where there was no dust.
