I just scored the first couple high grade knifes (BUSSE's) and stumbled upon the Spartan Blade website. Like the designs, really cool looking but I am into toughness and durability also. With the Busse's there is no disputing that - just check out the youtube knife destruction videos by Knife Test Noss. Maybe the S35V steel Sparta uses can never match the toughness of INFI? My guess is the Sparta has better edge retention though...

Spartan makes good stuff and there are members here that have some of their knives.

I carry a Spartan or two every day. I have pried metal with them, cut wire and have cut several other materials (wood, twine, cardboard). They are my "go to" knives along with my folder. They are durable and hold an edge well. As I recall, I have carried them for 6+ months and may have sharpened them twice, I use my knives every day multiple times for farm chores. They don't just live in my pocket.
I am waiting on a folder project that I heard they are building. Great knives from good people.

I own several Spartan knives. One is always in my go bag with a Carson U2 and a Multi tool. Another is on my chest rig. The company is owned and run by retired SF soldiers that are down to earth and good people. They make quality blades and scabbards.

Be on the lookout for thier two new knives commonig out, a folder and New Breed fighter.

I'll have a little tale about them on my blog starting in Dec.
