Took quite a while to find the right dowel, but an old drum stick worked out perfectly. And some trial and error getting the paper the right size. Anyhow, made four, for experimentation, dipped them in wax and good to go. 70 grains Swiss 2fg (been doing my load development with Goex) and a .530" ball.

I got one shot out of the group, to the right, but otherwise, just like the .50" barrel with speed loads it's really not that much bigger of a group than patched ball. I suppose beyond 25 yards it would be.The three shot group below the pistol is patched ball. The taped over hole below that was my first shot, as it shot a bit higher yesterday the last time I shot it, I held the front sight halfway down in the rear sight. Do'h! So with the speed loads/paper cartridges they went right where I wanted them. I'm quite sure, or positive that my with my last shots yesterday, I was holding the pistol way too tight...I was choking up! Today I held her much looser, and did not have any trouble with recoil. It was a psychological thing.

As usual/normal, super easy to load, no hint of increased resistance as the barrel fouled, and fast. Tear, pour, ram, cap and go BANG.
