I've been googling up options for a Spikes upper I just ordered, and it seems the lower recevers from Spikes Tactical are marked with a third, full-auto position. Why would they do this ? It seems like it's just asking for trouble, for instance, if the police were to go digging through your trunk during a traffic stop ( like they seem to do around here routinely) they'd take one look at that and go completely ballistic. :what:
Unfortunately, this one from Brownells may still be my most economical option for a complete lower. Or is it? Any help appreciated........

I have an Rguns lower with a 3-rd burst symbol on it...anyone who's bright enough to know what the symbol means should also be bright enough to see that 1.) the safety catch does not go beyond 'semi' and 2.) the receiver is not milled or drilled for f/a parts.

It hasn't happened, but I'd find it amusing if an LEO was confused. It might be embarrassing for them, of course, when a more knowledgeable colleague tips them off.... but overall, it is entirely legal, so i see no problem.

You might save some loot getting a stripped lower and parts, rather than a complete lower: IF you get a complete lower and a complete upper, PLEASE don't call it a "build," since you're not building anything...just assembling.

If paint makes them go ballistic maybe they shouldn't be cops...... And, if they are digging through your trunk at a traffic stop you should sue them for enough money to go buy several tax stamped full auto firearms.

That works for me, thanks, desidog.
And, LOL, I know better than to claim I "built" anything, I'd feel pretentious even saying I "assembled" an upper and lower !!:D

I never buy lowers with full auto markings, its just silly imo.

All my spikes lowers are semi only multi-marked.
