So I see this thread ever so often about how many rounds to fire before considering a EDC as reliable, so let me spin that to;
How many rounds can you put through a pistol before you have negatively effected reliability, or are nearing a point of breakage?

Tens of thousands on a modern, serviceable autoloader from a reputable manufacturer. Exponentially more with regular and preventative maintenance to change out parts.

On a decent quality gun, usually many thousands of rounds can be fired before you need to start replacing parts. It really depends on the gun though.

I thought I heard that the Kimber Solo was supposed to have the recoil spring replaced like every 2000 rounds. That may not be right though.

Since I pack a Glock 26, and I use a second one as a practice piece (with very little cleaning) I can say 40 to 50k rounds before you even think about wear in the 26.

I used to carry a G27 and I shot it a lot. I was nearing 10K rounds and started thinking about the same question that you're asking here. I finally decided to get another G27 for range time and stopped shooting my EDC (except to empty my SD mag once a year or so). Now I've switched to the G30S and I didn't wait as many rounds to go ahead and get my 2nd one.

I have two Springfield Mil specs that each have over 80,000 rounds through them. I trust them because they have NEVER failed. If you are able to wear a gun to the point it fails to work then it's because someone built it with cheap parts. I also have 4 S&W N frames that have close to 40 to 50 thousand rounds through them and they have never failed either. All they "need" is cleaning and maybe replacement of springs every so often. 10,000 rounds is nothing.

Every manufacture recommends Recoil Spring replacement between 1.5-5k rounds, including glock. Its generally less than 10 dollar part so its inconsequential in the grand scheme of things.

Hate to tell you guys but my competition Glock 17 didn't get a recoil spring change till well past 50k rounds.

Glock springs, in my experience, last and last.

I have a .357 revolver that I have put 32k stout magnums thru and have never cracked the side plate open.

Shoot anything enough, parts will break or wear out.

500 rounds should do. Sorry, 5000 rounds.

I totally mis-read the question. I chipped an extractor on my IDPA pistol after that many. Replace your springs every few seasons if you run your guns hard.

I've tested my Sigs to at least 500 rounds before cleaning (might have been 1000 rounds as memory is foggy) and it was still reliable. I've got about 3000 rounds out of my Mossberg 500 before I started getting some light primer strikes and that was likely due to some spray lube getting in the firing pin channel and brining some crud with it. I got about 500 rounds through my 30-30 Marlin 336 before I cleaned it and it was still working reliably though you needed to check the various screws hadn't loosened on it. I could have probably gone longer but took a rifle class with it during dessert wind storm and fine grit sand got in everywhere but still ran ok for the remainder of the class.

re: reliability

I own a 1982 Belgian Hi Power, that is the Eveready Rabbit.
I own a 1973 SandW Model 15, which is another rabbit.

Both reputable manufacturers, both reputable firearms.
