I just loaded up some 9mm Sport Pistol loads to try out using the RMR 124 gr. JHP (or "MPR's" as Jake calls them).
I loaded these a bit longer than the 1.120 Alliant data specifies for the GDHP.
P226 data:
124gr RMR MPR, 4.2gr ASP, 1.140 COL, Vel Avg 971
124gr RMR MPR, 4.4gr ASP, 1.140 COL, Vel Avg 1012
I did not redo these at a short COL that I settled on so I could shoot reloads in all my 9s. I do however have data from the RMR FP MW, obviously a different bullet but still in the realm of jacketed rather than plated. My measurements have the RMR MPR OAL .005 longer than the RMR FP MW.
124gr RMR FP MW, 4.2gr ASP, 1.140 COL, Vel Avg 1010
124gr RMR FP MW, 4.4gr ASP, 1.140 COL, Vel Avg 1036
Since I settled on the FP MW for all the 9s, I had to settle on a COL of 1.120:
124gr RMR FP MW, 4.2gr ASP, 1.120 COL, Vel Avg 1040
124gr RMR FP MW, 4.4gr ASP, 1.120 COL, Vel Avg 1075
That's just a tad over the 1071 that Alliant shows for the 4.4gr load with the GDHP. If you look at the 124gr FMJ/4.5gr ASP max/1.120 COL, that velocity is 1089.
I've found I needed to be at the upper end of the ASP load data for jacketed, but in the middle of the load data for plated or coated.
