Good for Springfield.
On the subject of your purchase of a Springfield 10mm. Don't buy it sight unseen. I ordered a mil-spec 1911 from Springfield to a local shop in 2017. The gun worked okay but it was disappointing. It was a gun I never would have bought from a case if I could have looked it over.
First, the slide and the lower didn't meet flush above the (mil-spec abbreviated) beaver tail. The slide was proud of the lower by almost 1/16th ". Second, the slide serrations were messed up on one side. The last couple cuts on the left side were kinda splayed at the bottom edge of the slide. Totally un-fixable cosmetic f**k-up.
Slide to lower fit was very tight. Too tight, really. It locked up once - maybe galling is the term - and I just polished the pieces together with toothpaste and it never happened again.
Anyway, these days, one needs to look over Springfield gear, in hand, before buying.
I complained to Springfield via email but they didn't respond. But what would they have said? Sorry? Ha.
