Springfield Rear Sights

Is the dovetail that holds the rear sight in a Springfield Milspec the same as the dovetail that holds the rear sight in a Springfield GI milspec?

If they're the same, it seems a trivial matter to replace the GI sights with Springfield's three dot sights.

Is the GI dovetail the same as other dovetails? That is, would a Trijicon fit it? Would a Yost Retro fit it?

The rear dovetail is the same Jammer.

I've got a set of Kings hardball sights for mine.

I have a Yost Retro rear and a Kings Hardball front sight on my SA GI. Same dovetail as my Milspec (which now sports Heine's).

The main difference between the milspec and the GI, in my opinion, is the sights.

If I can swap them out for a Yost retro, or for Springfields, that difference isn't that significant to me.

This is going to be a long shot: has anyone put this Trijicon sight in a Springfield milspec?

If this sight fits the dovetail, and the front tenon, then I think I actually prefer the GI!

You can upgrade the sights, and you will have spent about ten dollars more, but you will have Trijicons instead of three dots.
