Recent purchase.First fullsize 1911 for me, very pleased with the accuracy and out of the box reliability so far. Nothing I have owned is as accurate out to 25yards.In fairness to everything else I have owned, they all had shorter barrels and many were pocket guns. The one exception was a fullsize m&p9 that was close, but I couldn't warm up to the trigger. mil spec.jpg

Congrats, awesome. I am looking for the same right now. If you ever sell her.... lemmie know! Fat chance I'm sure.

Jimbo, welcome to the wonderful, if somewhat addictive, world of 1911s. I carry a commander size 1911 (STI Ranger) in a Crossbreed Super Tuck Deluxe IWB with a Ares Ranger belt. The Crossbreed spreads the weight and combined with a good belt it's no problem. I'm in Texas so I can relate to the heat and my setup works comfortably. TexanScott is right about Guyabara shirts. They are loose, light weight, and provide concealment.

Also in a hot as H E double hockey sticks location and carry a 1911 in a DM Bullard Bodyguard (OWB) with a light cover shirt.

What I need is a holster store, where you go in and they have every brand for you to try on and see which one is best for you!:)

Nice looking Stainless Mil Spec Springfield Armory 1911 you got there Jimbo! they do shoot really great.

SA also made a few Mil Spec's in nickel finish. As far as I know these are all .38 Super. They came with fake pearl grips from the factory. I like the grips that came on yours.

Thank you C&L. Springfield also supplied a set of black plastic grips, but I prefer the wood. Yet another great pic I might add, Is that a colt to the left in the pic?
