Steel Ridge Ammunition

Anybody have any experience with ammo from this company? I bought some hollow points for my bedside 9mm at the local Rural King for an awesome price. Didn't notice until I looked at the receipt that they were remanufactured. Have them in the mags for now but may switch back to the FMJ that I already have on hand that is factory new. I plan on eventually picking up some high end HP defense rounds but picked these up since we were stopping there anyway for some landscaping materials.

I thought hollow points were illegal in IL. what grain are they, where were they remanufactured? how many did you buy and do you have a place to shoot, to where as you can look at the round after firing?

Hollow points are fine in IL. I'd have to check the box but I believe they are 115 gr. Bought 100 rounds, I'll have to figure out a place to shoot where I can recover the bullet. I can shoot out at my in-laws whenever I want, but never tried to recover bullets before.

Or you could spend a tad more on proven and established brands like Speer Gold Dots, Federal HST, etc. that already have been thoroughly tested in different medias by numerous agencies and individuals. I don't know about you but that sounds better than trusting your life with the cheapest JHP's you can find.

BTW, have you ran any of these through your pistol to see if they function?

Not yet, another reason I'll probably switch back to the FMJs tonight.
