Stevens 320 Security shotgun legal in N.Y.?

I have been planning on bringing one each of these for my Daughters living in Buffalo. A guy at the range on Sunday thought they might not be legal in N.Y. State with the new law and they having an obvious "pistol grip." Anyone on here that is familiar with the law?

Pistol grips and a magazine capacity of over 5 rounds applies to semi auto shotguns. They then become "assault weapons", illegal in NY.

When you said "bring", if you're out of state you meant transferring through an FFL, right?
