A friend of mine has an old 20ga Stevens pump shotgun. It looks very similar to a 520, but I couldn't find any model markings on it. It is a takedown model. A takedown tool unscrews from the end of the magazine tube. Basically it's a little wrench that fits the collar on the top of the receiver. This is unlike any 520 I've seen (all the ones I've seen were 12 ga). It needs a few repairs, but until I can identify it, parts can't be ordered. Anyone have any idea what this old pump gun is?

Thanks

There is a Stevens 620 model that looks like the 520 and was made from 1927 to 1954. Some models had no markings. Can't verify without picture or a look at the shotgun itself. Gun Traders Guide is what I used to narrow this down. Public Libraries should keep a few books similar to the Gun Guide. Mine does in a small city of 60,000 souls. Good luck.

It definately isn't a 620, as it has a hump back receiver. Thanks for the replies. I'll stop by our local bookstore and see if I can find it in a gun traders guide.

In a pump action such as you describe the one shown is the only one I can find. The others that loolk similar are semi auto shotgun.
