Stickers?

1st Amendment, ya know Free Speech?

end of discussion

Hardly. Nobody is debating whether or not people should be ALLOWED to have such stickers (which is a first amendment issue). People are debating the WISDOM of displaying them. It's a completely different issue.

I recently added a white oval 357 sticker, a white oval YMRYNR, and a dont tread on my sticker to my back window. The incidence of aggressrive driving on my bumper in rush hour has dropped SIGNIFIGANTLY.

Do you guys think that these stickers are really appropriate. Does it really help our pro 2A stanc to potray ourselves this way. What do you think?

The brutal truth is that dumb people are allowed to act dumb up to the limit of the law. And those stickers, dumb as they are, fall onto the legal side of the line. But, as others have pointed out, they're bound to draw the wrong kind of attention.

Stickers

I have "POWs Never Have A Nice Day", two of "Old Glory" (the one on the right side of vehicle has the stars on the "wrong" side -- gets some remarks), the Gadsden Flag, and a "Imagine Whirled Peas" (I'm in a Progressive University town), and that's it. I did interrupt a couple of college co-eds trying to remove my "Peas" sticker. They were quite ugly so I just ignored their remarks, and wished them: "Piece-Out, Bitches!" Dao

I used to have a sticker on my truck that said....I still miss my ex, but my aim is improving. It didn't mean I spent my time shootin at my ex. I think most people that have stickers like keep honking i'm reloading or driver only carries $20 worth of ammo don't even own a gun.

There are bumper stickers that portray political issues in a good light.

There are those that do not.

And then, there are truck nuts. When it comes to putting stuff on your vehicle, you can be as stupid as you wanna be.

you can take my guns, but dont you even dare try taking my bumper sticker!!!

I used to have "Driver only carries $20 worth of ammo", but ammo went up so much, it didn't mean the same thing anymore...........

I don't mind or care if others do, but I choose not to display such slogans on my home, person or vehicles, mostly because I feel they make me a target for theft. It isn't paranoia if people really are out to get you. :D

1st Amendment, ya know Free Speech?

end of discussion
My experience has been whenever someone ends a sound byte with comments such as "end of discussion", it never is. Courteous dialogue packs a much stronger punch.

CT is super liberal and I've heard a lot of stories of cops pulling people over for gun related bumper stickers asking if there are any firearms in the car. Obviously they can't search but it's still a profiling related inconvenience.

Some of the less threatening gun stickers would be fun to have but a a lot of them are along the lines of "nothing in this vehicle is worth your life" Good one but a touch over the line. haha

armoryourcar.com is a good sticker site
conservativeundergroundstickers.com is a good one too

Saw one on the second site that said "If you can't feed em don't breed em". haha

I got pulled over, because of those silly bullet hole stickers. Drove by a local cop, whos eyes about bugged out when we drove by him at a cross street. He jumped right on my ass, and followed me all the way through town before pulling me over.

We had to wait until his back up arrived before he'd get out. Both cops creep up on either side of the truck, hands on guns. Cop on my side says "whats up with the bullet holes in the truck?"

I said you cant be serious, theyre friggin stickers. He gives me a dirty look, and then goes back and puts his finger on one of them. The next look was priceless.

He told me it might be funny where we were from, but it wasnt funny in his town. Thats 45 minutes out of my life I wont get back.
What the heck kind of reason whould he give for pulling anyone over for what, at first glance, looked like bullet holes? Unless a report had just come over his radio of a vehicle being shot at, why would he care? I had a friend in high school who had someone shoot up his pickup truck over an arguement about a girl. They put six or seven holes in it. The spare tire was perferated and so was his A/C condensor but no major damage. He drove the truck for years after that. I can't imagine a cop seeing him drive past and freaking out over the holes in the cab and bed of his truck. I mean, what the heck? The cops in your story REALLY need to switch to decaf and find something to keep them busy.

do i think it is appropriate? i think that it is an individules right to do what he wants to his own property. if he wants to paint the vehicle to look like animal feces, that is up to him. do i think they help our cause, or 2nd amendments rights? not really. but who are we to stomp on his rights? that is part of the problem in these states. to many people complaining about what somebody else is doing. if you stop and think about it, this is not a lot different that what the anti gun people are doing. complaining about something that does not directly impact their lives. how many anti-gun people have actually had a gun shoved in their face? not many. the ones that actually have, have every right in the world to be anti gun. most of them are just afraid. while you do not like the stickers on this persons ride. they do absoultly nothing to harm you. if a man wants to live in a yellow house, should he have to paint it pink because the yellow offends someone? we all need to be more leinient with other peoples choices. when it actually impacts your life, then you have a right to protest.

I was not saying that people shouldn't have the right to put a bumber sticker on their car I was asking if people thought if it was appropriate or not. I was not trying to make a 1st amendment argument. Of coarse he has the right to put those stickers there. My concern is that it makes all gun owners look bad (so yes it a way it does affect me indirectly). I have a friend that was looking to pick up either a 500 S&W or BFR in 45/70 to use for CCW. Does he have the legal right to carry such a weapon? Absolutely, and I would never try to oppose that right. But do you really think that someone should carry a gun like that for personal protection (from BG's)? I don't think that any responsible gun owner would agree with that choice.
The same guy likes to brag about he and his dad going into a gas station and convincing the manager to take down the no firearms sticker on the front door. How can someone plead their case that people with their ccw are safe and responsible when they slap a sticker on the back of their vehicle that says if you try to rob me I will shoot you in the face. Again I am not saying people shouldn't be aloud to put those stickers on their car, I just want people to think about the image they are putting out there.

What the heck kind of reason whould he give for pulling anyone over for what, at first glance, looked like bullet holes?
Thats exactly what his reason was.

The fact it was a border suburb of Philly might have have something to do with it too. Theyre all a little "twitchy" down there. :)

I also put a quick burst from my MP5 into the side of an old 70's Honda Civic I had. I drove that around for about 6 months and no one said "boo" about it. Then again, I didnt drive it around Conshohocken. :)

I'm guilty

Right below my Marine Corps sticker "Gun Control... making the world safe for criminals one law abiding citizen at a time".
I'll tell ya an NRA sticker is just as offensive to a liberal as any one of the stickers you mentioned in this thread. Most liberal associate the NRA with beer drinking gun carrying wife beaters. Don't believe me !!.. then just ask a liberal what they thinks of the NRA.

Crossrhodes, I wouldn't put your bumper sticker on my vehicle but I really don't find it as questionalble as some of the others that I mentioned. I also don't want to start a debate about political parties. I do happen to know some very liberal people that are still pro 2A.

Gun slogan bumper stickers look really tacky to me and I think they cast gun owners in a bad light. Still, I would rather have one of those stickers rather than that awful "Coexist" sticker.

Most liberal associate the NRA with beer drinking gun carrying wife beaters. Don't believe me !!.. then just ask a liberal what they thinks of the NRA.

Actually I associate the NRA with people who shout my opinion down at every turn with canned slogans and talk radio rhetoric. Also, I don't think 80% of the NRA knows what classical liberalism actually is.
Let's keep this on the topic of gun paraphernalia, please.
