Are the Kick-Eez pads supposed to be sticky right out of the box? I haven't used one before and the one I ordered is actually sticky to the touch. I have a couple of Limbsavers and they are are soft (perhaps softer than Kick-Eez) but not sticky at all. Perhaps the pad has deteriorated in storage?

Just in case someone else is wondering: This is normal and the sticky layer wears off in normal use.

The Kick-Eez on my Auto-5 was installed just two years ago and is so sticky in the gun cabinet that it pulls up the felt pad underneath the butt. Of course I have no idea how long it languished in the package it was sold in.

I keep a layer of wax paper under the gun; that sticks too but it's easy to peel off. Doesn't seem to be an issue when shooting however. It doesn't stick to my shoulder.

I have a LS that turned to goo. I used to put baby powder on it but this year it’s even worse so I put part of a sock over it. Reminds me I need to replace it.

I know the LS brake down over time, and makes them a pain to use. Is there a date on the package?

Are you talking about Limb Saver? I've heard so many good things about them, it's a shame that the compound deteriorates like this!

Ya them, I forgot one day a out my rifle in the corner of my bed room, it sat there for a week. I had to cut the carpet with a Razer blade it was so stuck. Mine sticks to my shoulder after shooting,
