If you're going to get a rifle caliber pistol, go all the way:
Nah, he said no foreign guns, so I'd offer the domestic version that's even more dakka;

Never mind it's 19k, the only chance I have of getting one is if they amend the Hughes and at that point I'd rather have a full auto mdr more than anything.

But you would buy an cheap unrealible American product?

C'mon... I get supporting domestic companies. I do the same but I also buy quality products from other countries.

Nope i can't send my money to a company that pays taxes to a anti gun state. Every gun I'm saving up to purchase soon was selected due to their maker's being two things, American and staunchly pro gun.

Okaqy, Ooblong, you have had had adequate time for feedback from the community. What is your decision? Are you going to buy a Kel-Tec, or are you going to adming to admit you don't need one squad and thus you are going to buy something else?

I should also mention that the PLR-16 that I shot had a single point sling that slipped over a shoulder for discreet carry under a coat. It was ok for that, but really added to accurate shooting by allowing the shooter to push the pistol out away from his body and get tension on the sling. That allows a more stable firing position.

From the time of the Mexican-American war, American military prowess has been preemiminent.

What I meant is buying products from other countries that produce reliable weapons such as Glock, HK, Sig, FN, etc. Most of these companies support our Military and LE.

But I understand wanting to support the local economy. I just don't buy cheap unreliable anymore, Keltec being one of them (based on my own experience). If its reliable, then I would buy it.

When glock, hk, sig, and fn start supporting the American people for all the business they get from our government by offering us discounts maybe I'll buy, but right now f*^% em. I refuse to buy foreign anymore.

Much of the reputation that KT has gotten came from their ultra-tiny concealment pistols that some people really do have problems with. The P-40 comes to mind as a LOT of them went back to the factory because they jammed...but were found to be 100% healthy. Turned out that many people just couldn't hold them tight enough to make them function...and 'limp wristing' was happening because it was really too much power in too light a package. We all seem to want such things...then complain when the inevitible compromises of such a thing rear their ugly heads. The PLR-16 doesn't suffer from this problem and overheating is the only worry I'd have with it in extended shooting.

I kinda want one too
I have a .223rem t/c pistol i love
And i dont care if a god likes my range toys.
My next one will be a 454casull snubby.
Just becaise i can ;)

I was thinking super hard about getting a PLR-16 but have seen some bad stuff about it. I really want a .223 pistol but I can't buy anything foreign or anything with a buffer tube sticking out the back so that leaves the Kel-tec, convince me to not buy it.

I had a PLR-16 for a couple years and it shot everything I put thru it,had a few FTF but my friends said I got lucky with mine being it really had no issues........I put a break on it and had to double up on my ear protection, man that 16 barked to the point I let the folks around me know I was going to shoot it,got a lot of ya ya it's not going to be that bad and I'd pull the trigger a few times and they would be holding their ears haha I warned you.

From my point of view, the PLR16 is really only good for having your firearm in a legal, usable configuration while you wait for your sbr tax stamp to go through. If it's just a fun gun, hey, do what you want, but I would recommend actually firing it before you buy one, if possible, because it may not be as fun as you expect. my two cents. I would recommend a standard AR pistol before a PLR16, though. The buffer tube is really quite useful for accurate shooting, you have massive aftermarket support, and you can get a 10.5 inch barrel which gives you better ballistics. And you can put one together, if you shop carefully, for about $400 or even less. Do what you want, but I recommend you think carefully before committing to a unique firing experience you haven't actually experienced before.
