The title says it all. Does anybody out there know of someone who sharpens straight razors in the Albuquerque area?

You. Might have to mail it out. There are people on the straight razor forums that do it reasonably. I hone my own, you really could get by with an 4k/8k whetstone. Though sharpness fanatics will tell you 12k/16k minimum. Good luck. East TN is pretty far from Albuquerque.

Thanks for the link LNK. I figured I'd probably have to send the razor somewhere until I figured out how to hone it and acquired the equipment to do it. Nice to know I don't really need a 12k grit stone.

I do mine with a Norton 4/8. As long as the bevel is ok you would be fine with that. Otherwise you may need a 1/6. But that is only if you breadknife it. Good luck.

Buy the stones and learn to do it yourself. I started with a Norton 4/8. Over the years I have acquired other stones both coarser and finer. The Norton is the go to.
