Evening everyone,
I have an old Dewey cleaning rod that for reasons long forgotten, I screwed in a male adapter for female jags. It is now good and stuck. I've tried using heat to loosen up the threads with no success. Any advice on how to remove this without ruining a good cleaning rod?
Thanks

I'm thinking heat would cause it to expand. Might it be possible to try cold instead of heat? In a freezer or the like? Might reduce the size of the rod just enough to get the jag free.

Stick the end in some Kroil or a 50/50 mix ATF and acetone and let it soak. Sounds like some corrosion has set up. I had one stick from cleaning corrosive milsurp ammo. I cleaned everything down with a water based cleaner except for the screw on adapter. I stick a little anti seize in there now.
