Suggestions for .22LR rifle for my girlfriend?

Kevin;

Here's a suggestion for a couple of guns that haven't been mentioned yet. Yup, they're both CZ's, but each fills a different niche.

The CZ model 452 Scout is a youth sized .22 with a 12" length of pull. L.O.P. is the distance from the trigger to the end of the buttstock. Many females appreciate the smaller gun. It has a 16.2' barrel, is bolt action & has a single-shot tray that can be pulled so's the 5 & 10 round magazines can be used too. Because it also has a beechwood stock, the price is usually very reasonable for these, I've seen them for around $225.00.

The 513 Basic is a simpler, plainer, version of the 452, but a full size gun that also has a beechwood stock. It sells for what the Scout does, give a coupla bucks one way or the other.

Both have iron sights, and the metric dovetail for scope mounting.

If she doesn't like either of these, get what she does like. Maybe it'll be one of those nasty, icky, unreliable, inaccurate Ruger 10/22's. The several 10/22's in my keeping, however, want to band together & hire a lawyer & see if a slander suit can be processed.:evil:.

I think Ruger's cleaning up their 10/22's here of late. I got to shoot a new stainless 10/22 back around Christmas (friend's wife got one for the holidays) and she (and I) shot distinguished expert scores on the NRA light rifle course with it.

Who says it has to be a 22 if she is a little skitish around real guns look in to a target air rifle. Depending on where you live there is probably an indoor range and a league that more than likely has a few women in it. I love my 10/22 but it did have its growing pains but I believe that Ruger really has their act cleaned up now. But my first rifle was the Marlin model 60 and it provided me with plenty of trigger time.
