Moderators. This seemed the best place for this question but move it if you think otherwise.
I have a chevy silverado ext cab. The rear seat is a full sized bench seat that has the back bolted to the back wall. The actual seat flips up. I intend to carry a long arm in the cab with me and am wondering about the best way to secure it. Most likely a lever gun of 18-20" in size.
I'm considering mounting some type of scabard to the bottom of the seat so that it's out of sight when you look into the truck. I also wondered about mounting a box to the floor under the seat towards the back but I'm afraid it would take too much room. I keep tool bags and such under the seat right now to keep them out of the way.
I prefer to keep it out of sight so no back window racks or over the head consol carriers.
Thoughts on this approach? Suggestions?
