Went to the range today and found out that High Tone Sunday shooting club was out .. Not as many showed up as some of the pre colvid shoots but this was one is getting bigger. There was a lot of guns out there today and some of the crew served guys said it was ok to take photos of them. Here are a few that caught my eye.

A functional life fire Marita. Also that dust on it came from Klendathu or what Cap Troopers call Big K.
That is a Mini 14 in there.

Cool pictures. Unfortunately, the Morita was pretty useless against the Bugs. The movie's MI got their butts kicked on the first Klendathu invasion. The book's MI were tougher in armored suits. They still lost the first invasion but their bugs were high tech with starships and energy weapons also.

I know the movie, just curious was it a self made setup? Im assuming its just a plastic housing that locks into the mini14? Id like see a build for it.

The only good bug is a dead bug

The housing is one of the fiberglass shells that came from one of the Hero rifles used in the movie. If you want to see some close up photos of whats inside, there was a guy who had one for sale on e-bay and he shows the inside guts and set up. But all the parts of the shell was original to the movie.. The mini 14 was not from the movie.

There was at best a tenuous connection between the book and the movie.

Rico's Roughnecks!

Rico was a Filipino in the book, IIRC, not a blond guy named Casper. Casper also got his butt kicked by the Headless Horseman. Don't try to reload a muzzle loader when a ghost monster is coming towards you or fight it with a sickle.

Not if you wanted to have children with Denise Richards.

In the book, the MI suits were shielded against their mini-nukes.

The weird thing in the movie, was that the Mormons started the war with the bugs.
