I am sure the police will try and find a way to shut them down after this incident.

Uh, what? Why would the police try to shut down a business just because it was the site of a buglary?

I dunno, but a store I once worked for had a burglary before I came to work there. Several years later, the sheriff's office still had the guns that had been stolen. So they were stolen twice. We had the boxes for them in the back room and they were still listed in the bound-book. I dunno what the ATF would have said about that, since they were missing inventory.

Anyway, the store owner was a jack ass and went out of business a couple years after I quit. I suppose the sheriff still has those guns.

Well, he's from California and that's probably what would happen out there. That state has some pretty restrictive statutes in place for gun stores that you don't see anywhere else.

But this is Texas so I'm not too worried. It's Austin though so you can never be too sure :)

McBrides is a great store. They have a good relationship with APD. I doubt they will be penalized for a burglary.

i agree, mcbrides is a great gunstore.

they have a large inventory, so a quick question. are there there some sort of BATF laws that requires guns to be secured in some form or fashion. i was a kitchen tabletop gun dealer back in the '70s and i was supposed to keep inventory locked up. with an inventory as large as mcbrides, that would be one heck of a chore, locking up all the guns every night.

Hope that some sort of investigation can figure out exactly what happened there. Sounds like the police were careful and thorough, and it's good that nobody got hurt.
