No. Not possible. SIG America is not Swiss. The only thing Swiss about it is that one board member is a Swiss citizen that also sits on the Former SIG board in Bern Switzerland.
That ad is for European military & police department applications.
The original 500, 551 and 552's that made it into the US are now in the 3 to $5,000.00 category, and not for any good reason I've ever heard other than rarity.
Thank you, Mr. "Didn't make it to Bagdhad Bush" and Slick Willie.

You can make a decent copy by starting with a current SIG rifle and acquiring the furniture to make it look like a 550. But it won't be the same.

save the money and build a good ar-15 or buy a colt.logistics of repair parts are way easier, and your spending 2-3 times the price of a colt, and will possibly take a hit on selling,as not many people may want it.

Here's the Google translation of the description:

"With our match-shaft, the earth spade, a precise objective lens and the park receive bipod, this configuration is for sports equipment with high precision."

It's got to be the match-shaft that makes that one so awesome.

Is it possible to purchase a semi auto Swiss Arms 550 rifle in the US? I guess I am asking were these ever brought in and if so what do they go for?
There was a time many moons ago when the 550 was imported into the US. However in 1986 new government restrictions on the importation of foreign made military style rifles meant that very few of them made it in.

Here's one on GB now for $12,500

Here's one that sold for $8,000

The closest thing to the Sig 550 you are going to find in the US (that is at least affordable) this the new Sig 551-A1.

I love the look of the 551-A1 it's what the Sig 556 should have looked like from day one. I can see myself owning one eventually.
