The bill moving Arkansas from a “duty to retreat” to “stand your ground” law passed the state Senate yesterday
The House should consider it within a week. Proponents say it is likely to pass in the House. The governor has not said whether he would sign the bill. A SYG bill failed in 2019 when the association of prosecutors testified against it. This time they stayed silent.
Online comments to the above linked article seem a bit hyperbolic. Oh, well.

I've been too busy to spend much time here, but I'll take an in-depth look at it as soon as I can. My cursory review of it this morning leaves me with the following impressions: (a) the law is pretty good as it now stands; (b) there are some disconcerting "wiggle words" in there; and (c) I won't be convinced that it's an improvement over current law until I really go through it thoroughly and maybe not even then.

For the record, it's Senate Bill 24 as of this posting: https://www.arkleg.state.ar.us/Bills/FTPDocument?path=/Bills/2021R/Public/SB24.pdf

Arkansas General Assembly: https://www.arkleg.state.ar.us/?ddBienniumSession=2021/2021R
