I recently acquired a Contender (early version i think, has the cougar engraving) and have an octagonal barrel en route. The gun, at acquisition, had two round barrels with it, and the grip/forend is pachmyer synthetic. (sorry for the spelling) The barrel headed to me is a "shorty" 6". I would like to get a wood forend for this new barrel, and wondered if it needs to specific to the octagonal barrel?
Thank You,

I have had in the past a octagon barrel in 44 magnum and the forend had like a snap
Not a lot of fun to shoot i much prefer the round barrel

No, I wish I had.
Those forearms are hard to find.
The pic I used was a file copy from Google images
I don't have any barrels with that original shorty rear sight
Thanks anyway, man, my octagon barrels don't see much action
I spend too much time with 14's and carbines

Eventually, we're all destined to 'graduate' to the Encore

I hope not. I have an Encore and feel it is s great leap back from my Generation 1 Contenders.

The only advantage to the Encore is it handles more rifle cartridges than what a Contender is capable of.

My Bullberry 22” 221 Rem Fireball Contender Carbine is one of the most accurate rifles that I have.

I have a 10” 357 Mag barrel an a 14” Super 14” 7mm Int Rimmed barrel that are very accurate.

My Encore with a 243 Win or 6.5x54 MS barrels is only so-so in accuracy. Things improved with some trigger work.
