I'm considering getting rid of my Mail in Match P.O. Box and just having everyone post their scores on each month's thread. It's not really the cost of the box, it's more the fact that the post office closes at 5:30 and I can't always make it there at the end of the month to get all entries.

I think we're a small and honest enough group to report our scores on the up-and-up.

Please vote and let me know if I can get rid of the P.O. Box.

E-mail is OK by me. I lost the mail-in address last month anyway. I won't be able to post pics since my scanner and computer are ignoring each other at the moment.

I am involved in an e-mail .22 benchrest match with 100 or more competitors and that seems to work quite well.

I think it would be fine. I would highly encourage all shooters to post their pictures since most people have scanners now a days. And for those of you who don't, this is a good excuse to go get a good scanner for cheap. They really are nifty.

If we really need to, we can say the winning score has to submit a scan or send it in. I don't think it would be that much of a problem.

The important thing is to thank ROTR for his putting this together and keeping it going. I think another good idea would be for ROTR to farm out the match every so often. He can just ask for a list of members who would be interested in hosting the match for a month, then a month where things are tight or he wants to take a break, ask and see who wants to do it. Then that member is in charge of coming up with the match, posting it, and tallying up the scores. I would be willing to host it one month and give ROTR a break so he doesn't burn out.

E-mailing them is the way to go. For those who can't scan and post or e-mail their targets I will accept them at my home address and scan them and forward them to ROTR as an e-mail. E-mail me for the addy.

Question for ROTR:

Are you going to continue to compile the scores or are we just going to post them here. I wll continue to shoot anyway no matter which. I know it must be quite a job to keep up with all the stats.

Also I noticed the Mail-in-match (I think that it was part of MadOgre's web site)web site is gone. Do we need to set something up? Maybe a site to post scanned targets on to preserve bandwidth here?? Don't know. Just thinking out loud.

I'm still going to compile scores and post monthly and yearly results on each month's thread. I'm just going to let the PO Box lapse. I rarely make it there in time at the end of the month anyway.

Speaking of which -- I did not make it there in time this week, so if you mailed your score to me, please post your score here and I will get them compiled this weekend.

Bedlamite was kind enough to set up a website, but I think he scitched internet providers and no longer has that website. If any of you have a website to post the winners and keep THR bandwidth free, please let me know.

I do miss the old website and would like to see it come up again. I don't think my 2mb is going to be enough though with what I already have on there. Let me know if we are in a pinch and I might be able to take off my soccer page.
