Who'd a thunk it? Been reading Tank for a while and now find out that the strip's authors are anti-gun, anti-minutemen and pro-illegal immigration all in one week.

Today's cartoon is the most blatant but if you look backwards you'll see that the anti-minuteman thingy has been going on about a week.

Weird because the strip's authors have had ole Tank out in the field with a shotgun hunting more than once and it was presented in a good light not a bad one.

Funny how folks can have within themselves ideas that on the surface appear to be antagonistic.

The McNamara strip has in the past been anti-hunting. It's been some years back, but it portrayed deer hunters as Bambi killers.

What's not pro-gun about Better Days?

In response to being raped (or nearly raped, it's not entirely clear) [and she does it some years later, before she starts dating again] Sheila Black takes steps to learn how to defend herself with a firearm. If you look around Jay Naylor's site (and, in fact, read Better Days) he makes a lot of points about personal responsibility and such. It's just that 2A isn't the only drum he beats.

"How do you spell it?"
"Spell 'Black'?"
"Mm-hmm."
"... Bee-ell-ay-cee-kay..."
~Sheila Black and some Hyena at a Hospital.

Sounds right. It's just one facet of the story, one which isn't the focus, and since he isn't really expounding it through the whole thing, it doesn't stick out.

Did you read the whole thing just now, or are you following it too?
