I just picked this up today from my LGS, got it for right at 300. I've owned an SP101, a little heavy on the belt, might as well carry my 3" six shot 35 ounce Taurus 66, though I did like the SP101. I sold it back to my SIL when he came back from Iraq per our agreement. He was going to pawn it...:banghead:

Anyway, so, tested this gun when I got home from the LGS. Chronographed my 140 Speer/17 grain 2400 load that I carried in the SP101 and carry in the 66. It shot right at what I got out of the SP101. It went 1333 fps/552 ft lbs. It's manageable in the little 20 ounce gun. 158 swc is a bit of a handful. It came with a boot grip, but I'm going to belt carry it, my 85SSUL in my pocket will back it up.

Timing is perfect, a LITTLE end shake, but not much, about 5 thou barrel/cylinder gap. It's got steel plates reinforcing the stress areas like the top of the frame where the flame hits and the plate at the back where it recoils. I think this must be the same polymer my P95 was made of, pretty tough stuff. It won't rust and holster wear shouldn't be a problem.

The DA trigger is pretty heavy, very smooth, manageable, but a lot heavier than my 85UL. I'm thinkin' I'll get a Wolff spring for it. That usually helps, did on the SP101. It shoots .38 wadcutters to same POI as the 140 JHP .357. My SP101 did that and my 3" 66 is pretty close. I'm wondering if this is a trait of snubbies. I can say, I like it. POI is about 2" right of POA at 25 yards, totally manageable. It shoots 3" groups from 25 yards off the bench with both loads. The sight radius on the 66 gives it about half that group size, but it's a LOT heavier on the belt.

Anyway, I'll let ya know how it holds up. My 85UL has many thousands of rounds through it, some of it +P, and it's still going strong 18 years after purchase. I'll mostly put .38 through this Poly, much of it +P 158s to give me more recoil for practice. 158 SWC .357s are a might rough on the hand with this little gun, probably avoid 'em. A Hogue grip could make it a little more comfy, might look into that. The grip is nice, like it, but it leaves a little too much of my middle finger behind the trigger guard.

Anyway, decided to try it. So far, I like it a LOT! It's got a crisp, light SA, too, which I prefer to a DAO.
