I recently purchased a new Taurus PT 909. So far I have put over 3000 rounds through it without one jam. I went on line to Taurus to check it out and they say it will be available soon. I bought mine two months ago. It has become my favorite pistol. Does anyone else out there have one? I would appreciate any feedback on this gun.

I just order one from my ffl person, it's here but don't have the time to pick it up until this thursday. I got the Stainless version. I bought it because Taurus make such nice Stainless Steel guns. I don't think any other manufacture make the shiny Stainless like Taurus. I will post pics soon.

I am quite interested in one myself because of the location and operation of the safety (and good results from the Taurus PT92 series). However, I have never seen one available anywhere. And when asked...never heard of it. (Sigh)

I haven't run into anyone else who owns it yet. I'd love to hear more about it as you get more experience with it. I do suspect that it should be quite a good and reliable gun. It appears to be a PT92 frame with a PT911 slide, and these are probably 2 of Taurus' best guns. If you wouldn't mind my asking a favor, since you are the first I've run into who has one, would you mind joining my forum/MSN Group (http://groups.msn.com/TaurusTalk/) and reporting on it?

Well here's some pics of mine. Got the time and I went to pick it up at my ffl guy yesterday. The gun feels real nice and what I like about it is that it looks real attractive. It comes with two 17 rounds mags. Will hit the range soon.

I have had the PT 909 Stainless version for about four months now. I have been to the range several times and have tested several different kinds of ammo trying to find something that shoots decient. I have fired over a thousand rounds of varying ball and hollow points without a single malfunction. In this regard it is a superior design. On the accuracy side I have experienced extreme disapointment. With ball ammo at thirty feet I will consitently have two or three from the seventeen round clip miss the paper all together. The rest are all over the target getting an average group size of 7". The very best I could get was 4" with a benched three round group. It has the same performance with the 115 grain hollow points. However my best groups were with the 147 grain GoldDot from Speer. This still only produced and average group size of 6". The trigger when I first got it was very gritty but that has smoothed out after about 500 rounds. Now I know that I'm not an expert with a handgun but I can use my friends Comp Kimber 1911 and put all seven rounds into a one hole group at thirty feet. So I'm not entirely new to shooting either. I am at the point of considering trading it in and looking for a different handgun.:banghead:
