Think they'll ever offer it as a stand-alone item, maybe in J-Frame size?

Are you talking about the "Ribber" grips? Taurus only uses them on the compact frame revolvers. They really are ugly, and just a tad too small for my hands. Too bad they don't offer a larger version.

I did hear that Houge is making a replacement grip for th Taurus compact frame though.

The ribber grips on my model 627 started to "shed" after about 9 months. Little pieces brake off every so often now. Damn Arizona heat probably didnt help. I have tried to find replacement grips but all I have found is more people asking the same question.

Taurus uses a grip frame on most of their revolvers which is very nearly the same as a Smith K frame square butt but the grips are held on differently and aren't interchangeable with the smith. The only model I know of with a reduced frame is the Raging Bull series has a much smaller frame than a smith but larger than the Dan Wesson. :scrutiny:

Hogue will be offering grips for the Taurus 627 and similar framed revolvers at the first of the year.

Thanks Ranger.

Yeah, Thanks everybody, the first place I checked was their website and also understand about the frame differences. It's good to know about their eventual falling apart-behavior, too. Guess It couldn't hurt to get the old dremel out and have some burning, stinky fun, anyhow.

Hey; Merry Chrismas, everybody!
