No. It's a brand new model. They discontinued the pt809 which literally is the same thing other than cosmetics

I have a PT809 with 3,000 trouble free rounds. Shoots everything, steel case, lead bullet reloads, WWB. Never so much as a bobble. I got it as a replacement for my PT609 (which was affected by the "settlement") that I got at an Academy "Black Friday" event. I really liked the PT609 which was equally reliable. It ain't fancy or sophisticated but it works.
