Tell me about 10mm revolvers

Try to find .38 Special or .357 Magnum ammo right now (at least in my area). It is very hard to come by. However every Wal-Mart within 100 miles of me has .40 S&W in stock every time I stop in.

A temporary problem that doesn't affect me at all since ammo is as close as my loading press. Besides, if you don't handload, 10mm is pretty dumb. .40 is available, but I can load it for 6 cents a round, as well as any other caliber, cast my own, free lead.

There, I fixed it for you

I just ended my love / hate relationship with a certain 10mm bottom feeder the other day when I traded it in on a 610 6.5". :) It's awesome! When I pull the trigger, it FIRES! LOL Picked up some free FPS to boot.. Agree about needing to handload the 10, and agree about there being 40 ammo on the shelf everywhere these days.

I did however have to go back and pull all the Starline & Norma headstamp reloads from my stash and taper crimp them more so that they'd go all the way in the cylinder. Even though they were all from the same run, the Federal, Remington, Winchester, & Hornady headstamps had enough crimp while those other 2 did not. It would appear that the chamber tightens a bit just before it gets to the case mouth headspace stop.

+1 on the Lee final sizing dies.
