As part of my feeble attempt to try and cover all bases for the future, I bought and tried out today a couple of 10 round M-1 Carbine mags by Keepshooting.
They came sealed in plastic, very nicely oiled. Nice blueing, no sharp edges, "Keepshooting" stamped on the base.
So much for cosmetics, how did they shoot? In a word, perfectly! The fit was a little tight going in, but they locked in solidly to my WWII Underwood, bolt open or closed. They fed perfectly, no problems whatsoever.
Not many 10 round mags for the carbine around, the new Inland company magazines are available for a pricey $30+ in a few places, the reviews weren't great. Auto-Ordinance are around for an also pricey $26. Pro-Mags are around, but based on poor prior performance in other guns, I ruled them out.
I had read good reviews on the ones by Keepshooting, at $16.80 I think they're a good deal for future possibilities or those that are currently in states with a 10 round limit. For 30 or 15 round mags I would recommend the Korean ones as sold by AIM Surplus at $14 and $12. As an aside, AIM also has some Korean surplus Carbine ammo right now, 120 rounds on stripper clips in a cloth bandoleer for $45. Buy 9 and it's $40.80 each and comes in a steel ammo box.
