TSRA members, please refer to the Voters' Guide for two Special Elections, State Senate Districts 1 & 31. These guides are posted on the TSRA/PAC web site at:

In these two districts there are seven candidates with A ratings. Only one, Tommy Merritt (SD 1) of Longview is endorsed by TSRA. He is the only proven supporter of the right to keep and bear arms (RKBA) with a recent legislative voting record (Texas House). He also is a member of NRA and TSRA plus a Texas concealed handgun licensee. Other ratings are based on questionnaires, interviews, and past experience. You are encouraged to call those candidates who have not returned the candidate questionnaire. They will be rated accordingly when the lobbying team hears from them.
