I had the chance to visit Ex (a THR member) this weekend to observe his reloading setup and process. Ex walked me though this process and gave me a few tips on how I can improve my loading process. We also had time to look at his gun collection, just so I can prove to my wife that I need to add a few calibers to my gun collection. When I left Ex handed me a goody bad with some of his loads and some Montana Gold and Zero jacketed HP's to try out. Thanks for the PIF Ex!

Just to complete the great weekend, I also had my grand kids visiting on Sunday. Since I was in the reloading mood, I decided it was time to show my grandson what it takes to reload. So we created his special label with his name and load #1 with 5 rounds. He did not do the cleaning, sizing or decapping, but did everything else on a single stage press from flaring, priming, weighing the powder, and then seating and crimping. He is to young to shoot 9mm, but I will label a special target for him and show him the results once I have tested it.

So overall this was a great Sunday.

Love the idea of a special label for the loads your grandson helped with and the target to show results. That is something he will always remember and treasure.

Thanks. I will need to find a target that he will appreciate to complete the experience. This is the ammo box and label.

I really like the idea of networking in real life with THR members and think we should try to do it whenever possible. I dont want to steer the thread in this direction but if the S ever HTF, it's going to be people like us that need to link up. (think resistance)

RC can be our military planner. (Walkalong, if Im out of bounds just delete, dont close please)

Sounds like the perfect use of one of those zombie targets. All the kids are into this now.;) Sounds as though I should be jealous mine was just normal.:p

I hate those zombie targets, but he will probably appreciate it. Thanks for the comments.

potatohead, yes, you hit the nail on the head. We all share the same passion, so it would not hurt to do some networking, since you never know when you need to find people you can trust if/when things starts spiraling out of control.

I fear, maybe not fear but think about, if the net goes down, most of us dont have access to each other. ive thought about starting a PM campaign when I've been around here a bit longer , to circumvent this problem.

**We better not delve to far into this or it'll get closed though. Good or bad, that's the rules. **Some might say "well, join a shtf site, but I dont want my network to be a bunch of koo koos, although that kind of thing is never more than a busted economy away. (see the Nazis rise to power)

Perhaps my pessimism, but I read it as ecstasy (along the same lines as above). So glad to hear it was something else.

Agree on networking outside the forum, nothing spreads the hobby like shared enthusiasm in the presence of like-minded.

I read that as the ex and was very confused until I reread the OP

I realized it was going to cause some confusion, so I added the "(a THR member)" clarification. Probably the easiest solution will be to ask "Ex" to change his user name.

Now I know I'm old because that didn't even come to mind. I guess only the 30-and-under crowd would think of that.
LOL, didnt cross my mind either. Guess Im officially "out of the loop". I have a feeling 10 or 15 yrs ago that would have been my thought..

I would think ecstasy and the firing range might not be a good mix:)

I had to re- read it twice and im 50 today. :D I thought his EX might have been a THR member:) VALP. sounds like you had one fine DAY! P. H. I think your on to something!

lauderdale, So while we are taking everything literally now, I assume "today" means it is your 50th birthday today. If that is true, happy 50th birthday!

Happy Veterans day !, And no pun intended! You are the one that had a much better day! Ive just gotten older. :D Thank you!

Ah yes... The ever confusing handle... (you know I do that on purpose ;) )

Glad you enjoyed and I can't wait to go shooting! You will like our area. Private and nice.

Glad you had good time with the youngsters too!

We'll tie up again soon!

Cheers!
