Tuner: Thank you for posting your help clinic threads. After much work, I have solved my intermediate failure to feed problem which turned out to be less than ideal width of the breech face leading edge. The two parallel sides were .475 apart, according to my caliper. I opened it up to .490 inch. I have not yet been to the range, but my original Series 70 Colt now feeds all my dummy rounds that previously would often fail to feed. Thanks again for all the information you post. Regards, Bill

Okay! Mistaken Identity here. Seems that we have twin Bills here and I got a little confused. One is a pistolsmith and the other a new member lookin' for a few answers. My bad! :eek:

Glad you caught on Tuner. We both know where you got that dimenson from. Poor Bill Z. Some one took Critter away, and now we have another BillZ to try to figure out who is who. Bill Space Z is our ONLINE INSTRUCTOR for the 1911 Class. I do not know who the other guys are. He is also a real person with an FFL and all that other stuff that goes with working on Pistoles.

Dunno what ya mean Cap'n...my dimensions are .484-.488 inch...I consider .490 as a maximum, but some smiths will take it that wide and even beyond. You may go and read my texts if you'd like...

Staying low-pro due to the identity confusion, even had some friends think I was talking to myself or was having a senior moment. Asked the board owner about changing my handle, but didn't even get a response, go figure.

I'm not sure what to make of all this. As a New Member I think it is my responsibilty to change my name. Maybe the name ZBill would end the confusion. Anyway, Tuners info go my Series 70 working. Thank you Tuner, ZBill
 
I am just as confused as anyone else. I remember when Critter purchased a .45 LW Colt Commander and I thought to myself......."That guy is trying to be like me! Next thing you know, he'll be shaving his head.............." and then I had to ask Bill Z how he liked his new gun and he thought I was nuts! Amusin' but confusin'

One of the problems that Tuner has always had is that he needs bi focals. I said "Pistolwretch". Chuck Rogers is "pistolwrench". I have never figured out what you is, Tuner. I am working on it, though.
 
Since BillZ was kind enough to volunteer to change his handle, I'll not let his effort get wasted and change mine also. I'll hold on to Bill Z, or you can change it to Bill Zollo, either way is fine. Actually, the later may be better.

I can't change it...

I cannot figure out how to change my name unless I start from scratch and re-register which I rather not do. Any suggestions Tuner?? Happy Thanksgiving, ZBill
