I own an auto 5 light 12 ga. it only accepts 2 3/4. My question is doesn't the auto 5 12ga. magnum accept the 3 1/2 " or is it just the 3" and can you get different size barrels for it, Thank you in advance.
I never needed a 3 1/2", shot 2 3/4" for the longest, now I shoot a 3" load that patterns extremely well in the Auto-5, better than the 2 3/4" load, the only reason I went to a 3"

I'm just wondering is yours a magnum 12, because mine is an a5 light and it says 2 3/4" only
I shoot a model 11 Remington (licensed A5 copy). With birdshot it will make you stand up and take notice. With slugs/buckshot it makes me want to go to the dentist to get my fillings re-packed. All 2 3/4 loads too BTW.
I have shot probably 3000 target loads on the clays course, 300 + 3" rounds at the pattern board, and 150+ 3" 1 1/4oz steel loads hunting and don't notice the recoil at all.
I had one gun that was set-up wrong, and to complicate matters the friction pieces and springs were toast, replaced them and back to being another great shooter.
My dedicated Sporting Clays gun is a 1996 Light 12 A5 that was NIB when I bought it:
I think the majority of these hard recoiling guns are due to improper set up and excess lube on the magazine tube
