The Deltaplex in Grand Rapids, MI, to stop hosting gun shows UPDATED...

I just received the following IM from the Deltaplex:

I needed to respond to the rumor mill. We at the DeltaPlex are currently not holding gun shows only because the former Gun Show promoter has not renewed his contract to host the event. It has nothing to do with our political beliefs, in fact we very much support 2nd Amendment rights.

We have been discussing a schedule of gun shows with a couple promoters and hope to have a reputable promoter soon.

Maybe they figured that old building was enough of a safety hazard already lol. Ill make sure not to attend any shows there and tell everybody I know.

Last year I went to a Gin and Knife show both at the 28th st venue and at the Deltaplex.

The Deltaplex was dead when I arrived. Got to park near the doors, and half the tables were empty. This was just this past October.

I went to the 28th st Showplace last spring, and it was jam packed.

And the 28th st showplace is closer to me, and a few blocks from where I work.

No more shows at the Deltaplex, no big loss.

If what I experienced last October is any indication of the promoter, then it's probably good they didn't renew their contract.

Hopefully your next promoter will be better than the last.

Any THR members planning on attending the 28th st Showplace in Feb?
