Wild Bill would agree.

You are correct, sir! Depending on my variations I have six (from 3 originals) and that depends upon my parts swapping. All are Pietta CNC machined.

It all depends upon the mood I am in the day and what variation I want.

I still like the G&G for looks and my 1851 .36 fantasy Dragoon.

Hasaf

Well done sir! I like the Smith carbine there as much as the Model 1860 Army!

That's some awesome looking color case hardening on that Ulysses S. Grant Commemorative! Excellent photo too!

According to one article I read on the Grant/Lee Commemoratives, the parts were made by Uberti and sent to Colt in Hartford, Connecticut where they were finished and assembled, some time from 1971 to 1973.

My wife got me one from Cabelas last Christmas. Very well made with a great overall fit and finish and an excellent trigger.

Piotr Fita,

WOW!!!!!!!! :what::what:

That's all I can think of saying about your '51 Colt.

In a nut shell, a combination of parts from Italian manufacturers and parts made here in America, All parts were made under Colt specs and inspected by Colt. The level of these inspections by Colt separate whether they are designated as a Second Generation or Third Generation.

I am glad you like my 1851. So it was worth its price, exactly twice what I got when selling my Uberti in excellent condition. With the Colt I also got a nice powder flask and a replica of the original cap tin but not the presentation box.

Pietta Rigdon and Ansley .36 .

Pietta parts (all): 1851 Navy .36 steel frame pistol, Griswold and Gunnison part octagon/part round barrel, and a plain cylinder with 12 stop-slots courtesy of my neighbor machinist friend.

I know I have posted this on other threads, but I wanted to post it here as part of the picture club.

I bought a Second Generation '51 Colt Navy in 1977 and to this day that was the most beautiful firearm I ever owned.

Looked a lot like yours.
