Anybody have equipment that previously was disallowed from IDPA competition that is now legal?
There was much wailing & gnashing of teeth when the rules came out, some of which I followed. The guys I had sympathy for were those that owned the moon-clip .45ACP gamey revolvers. They went from being at the top of the equipment heap to also-ran in their division. That's a several hundred dollar "ouch."
On a more happy note, several of my custom holsters are now good-to-go according to the rulebook. Also, some holsters from smaller non-custom houses are legal.
My Uncle Mikes plastic fantastic has been banished to the Outer Darkness, however. I don't feel too bad, though, since it was used only for IDPA & other fun-gun purposes. I can't ever see myself wearing it for any other purpose, since it is a p--s poor concelament holster. Might as well strap a bread box to your belt.
Upside: In excess of $200 worth of holsterage is now blessed
Downside: My $20 POS UM tupperware is verboten
