Thank you all for all your input on my recent post-Best polymer pistol- went and rented some and figured i would go with the glock 26- a good reliable 9mm with no soul or appeal -basiclly a tool
so on sat off I go to the hampton gun show, get to my dealers table and he is talking to some guy asking every question about every gun on the table
im waiting my turn and start looking around at his selection, next to the glocks are some CZ 75 I picked up the 75 compact and made up my mind that gun was coming home with me
it felt great, looked fantastic, and it was steel, i buy it and head home to read the book, clean it , then off to the range
after 200 round i like it even more!!!! the gun is capable of shooting better than i can
any suggestions for improvements?

Some thin cocobolo grips for a carry gun or some CZ factory rubber, for the range:) Great choice!

JDGray-

A nice pair!

And I'm glad that the guy who began this thread figured out for himself that the CZ was the logical choice among modern auto pistols.

Thanks! After a few more hundred rounds, and that trigger slicks up, you'll like that CZ even more:D

Suggestions for improvements??

1) Get more $$$ and prepare for your lonely CZ to multiply!
2) Get more CZs! :D

JDGray: glad to know there are a few more smart people in this state who've seen the CZ light! ;)

JD, the Compact on the right has its magazine floorplate lip bent down. Was it made that way, or did you bend it? My PCR's bit into and gouged my little finger and I put rubber-covered floorplates on all the magazines.

The bend was there when when I bought the gun (used) But appears factory. It fits my pinky nice:D

Well, I have to say you made an excellent choice - I confess to some slight bais towards CZ compact pistols...

Compact mags seem to come in three flavors - curved metal baseplate, which is original, flat metal baseplate, which is the new style, and the extended plastic baseplate, which I ain't fond of, and have none of...
BTW, grips featured above are Hakan pek and Crimson Trace. :)

I already mentioned the finger-gouging magazine floorplates. Those wood grips look nice, too. I would like some just a little bit thinner, without the palm swell of the plastic or rubber ones. And night sights.

Canuc Shooter,

Go for it!!!!!
I shoot my compacts better than my full size cZs.
How far north of 49? Me 53 30.

Here Ya go!

Here's a picture of my PO-1 w/ the factory cocobolo grips. This pistol is one of my favorites.

About to get my first CZ

My wife is getting me a gun for valentines day, and I am about 99% sure I am going to the gun shop today for the CZ85 they had in stock. It's not the compact which this thread is mostly about, but I assume that a compact will be in my future as well, since the CZ's seem to multiply in the safe (from what I've heard).
