Guys, I've said this before, and I'll say it again....

If we get tagged by a political or media gatekeeper (the low level minion, likely just out of college) who is charged with reading... er... no... _scanning_ that big mailbag and the jillions of e-mails that those organizations get, as a "gun nut," whatever we just carefully crafted and sent gets tossed in the circular file. Yup. It goes in the trash.

Why?

Because they already _think_ that they know how we think. And they don't really care.

HOWEVER, if we come across as Joe Urbanite (or Suburbanite) or Sally Soccermom, guess what? They don't stereotype us.

Yeah, I know... it's sad, and you're not happy about the situation, but that's the way it is. We can butt heads with it, without success, or we can go around it. Personally, I usually prefer a well-executed (there's that word!) flanking maneuver to the futile frontal fixed bayonet charge...

So, when you write your notes to the folks, try to make sure you do not come across as a gun nut. Don't use "our" slang. Don't use terms like "concealed carry" or "CCW." Heck, call magazines clips... The goal is that your message is at least looked at, and possibly taken seriously.
