Greetings all, I am looking at the Thompson Center Compass in ,223/5.56, and wonder if anyone has one that can give me actual positives and negatives on it... also was interested in possible best bullets weights for this rifle....... looks like a nice rifle for predators, and just target shooting....
can anyone help me out?

Held one at the local gunshop ,the trigger is horrible,as far as shooting it I cant tell you. At said gunshop (my buddy is the manager) I compared the TC Venture(I own three) to the Compass. I see these differences Venture = 5r rifling, pillar bedded stock, target crown,MOA guarentee and best of all owner adjustable trigger down to 3.5 lbs. My three went down to 3.2,3.3 and 3.2 respectively. Compass =none of the above. My buddy said the reason for the Compass is to compete in the niche market for lower priced bolt guns. IMHO spend a hundred bucks +/- more and get a whole lot more. The trigger is worth the hundred to me. Under 400 bucks shipped see link below.

hey there......That's very interesting, because, at the T/C site, and some of the reviews on line say that all of those things are included with the Compass...

:thumbup:Yes sir...apparently I got some bad info and you are correct. The only difference I see is a one position safety on the Venture ,and you pick up a muzzle device on the Compass. Sorry my friend my gun manager friend will be informed.....Don:thumbup:

it's all good brother.... no biggie.... I am just trying to research this rifle, and see if anyone has had it in hand and gave it a workout... I thought about it for a target rifle, and as I shoot a lot of 223 already, it might be a good companion piece... have a good one!
