It may be my search-fu is out of whack but I couldn't find a contender photo thread so here we are. contenders, encore pistols, barrels, game taken by contender, or just post what you want as long as it's contender/encore pistol related.

The contender in the pic is my current setup at the moment. It is a 44mag super 16 with a TC 2.5 power illuminated reticle scope on top. I sighted in at 80 yards and with my current light handloads with a 200gr Speer JHP are on target from 40 to 100 and hit a touch low on either end. With factory "bear hunting" loads it's very very unpleasant but with light loads it's a blast. I am in the process of building a shoulder stock for it and am looking for more barrels in lighter, cheaper calibers.

The little buck was my first contender kill. Though no prize deer he was big bodied and small racked. A cull deer so to speak. Bangflop at 45-50 yards from a blind set up on the family farm. 44mag-super 16

Mine is an older one and I have just a few barrels. I should shoot it more but frankly its slow rate of fire makes me tire with it quickly. It is exceptionally accurate though and lots of fun for each shot.

I took my stainless steel T/C Contender to the range yesterday. Needed to check on the loads I worked up for the 10" .22 Hornet and 14" .223 barrels.

First up, the 10" .22 Hornet

My favorite, a 14" .223

I also have a blued 14" 7-30 Waters, but I'm waiting for a scope to come in.

Well it isn't a close up but it is a Contender in 7x30 Waters in a Super 14,

I also have a couple of .357's, a SS 44, a 30-30 AI, and a .223 AI.

All but the 357's are in the 14" lengths, and will shoot tighter than I can usually hold. With the .223 AI I have never worked up any loads so I am not sure what the potential for it is, I have simply been shooting the Winchester 40rd packs of their 45gr Varmint loads. I figure if it shoots them like this there ain't no reason to try for better,

That is 10 rounds of the above Winchester ammo at 100yds off a solid rest.

A boy I work with was talking up something fierce about shooting groups and putting 10 shots into dime sized groups. The following weekend I shot that group and sent him the pic asking if that was what he was referring to. Still haven't heard back from him on it. I might not be able to do it EVERY time out, but I can do it more often than not. It is simply amazing how accurate that set up is.

Well in fact they are all close but the .223 AI is a hoot to shoot while I am at the range waiting for the rifles to cool down.

Below is my collection of TC's from .22Lr, .223s, 30-30, .44Mag, .45 Muzzle loader, and .410 shotgun.

Note the SS barrel, lower left hand corner is in the last picture is a 14" .44Mag barrel. I actually only have the .44Mag, the .223, and the .357Mag,. which isn't pictured in the hand gun, the rest are all carbine. Note the .357 I loaned to my son about a year ago, I'm gonna have to get that puppy back, now that I think about it.
