Threading an AR-15 Noodle Barrel

I have a DPMS light contour barrel on my post-post and would like to get the barrel cut to 14.5" and a flash suppressor permanently installed. Can a lightweight barrel of this size be threaded successfully? Who can do the permanent welding portion of the job?

Is it lighter than A1 contour? If it's the same as an A1 barrel I don't see why not.
