A while back I posted a thread inquiring about the suitability of PPU brass for reloading in my Marlin 336, chambered in 30-30 Win. The reviews came back good, so I added some to my next online order. After shooting a couple of miscellaneous boxes of ammo on my last range trip, I tried the PPU. I found that I was getting some pretty stiff extraction, enough that the normal finger flip on the lever wasn't doing it, I had to actually grab the lever. I attributed this to the gun being hot as I'd shot a fair amount by then, but when I finished off the PPU I had half a box of Winchester stuff left, so I shot that with normal feeling extraction, so I don't think it was just a hot gun. All of this ammo was factory new.
So, now that I have a number of boxes of factory new PPU ammo, can I fix the stiff extraction with a slight resizing when I go to reload it? Unfortunately I no longer have any factory ammo other than PPU handy to pull out the calipers to check on the size of the unfired cases.
