I intended to buy a custom rifle last year but was so impressed with the accuracy of 2 Tikka T3 6.5x55's that I acquired that I decided to upgrade their stocks. As any of you guys know that have looked into T3 aftermarket stocks, there are not a lot of options available. I took the plunge and ordered 2 Wild Dog custom drop-in hunter ultra-light carbon fiber stocks. I couldn't be happier. Wild dog offers a hand laid carbon fiber stock with carbon fiber composite based bedding block and aluminum installed pillars for exceptional strength and torsional rigidity. The recoil lug is also bedded. Same price range as a Mcmillan. The fit and finish are excellent and true drop in. The drop in fit for both of my T3 barreled actions was precise and accuracy has been stellar. Thus far, I've not felt the need for glass bedding. I've included pics and would be interested in other T3 owners experiences with T3 aftermarket stocks. I know, they are plenty accurate and reliable in their original skins. But, for me, I wanted an inclement weather carbon fiber stock and I'm very pleased to have found a very well made one.

I am confused by the additional swivel stud in front of the steel one...can't use it for a bipod (at least the Harris type) and I wouldn't want a sling in front of a bipod. Other than that they look like decent stocks...bet it helps with weight too.

BTW, you have good taste in scopes, particularly that Kahles...outstanding glass for the money (when on sale with CDNN anyway).

:)

Great looking stocks ! My wife has a T3 Lite, great rifle, but those stocks transform a mediocre (IMO) looking rifle into real lookers. Did you happen to weigh them ? I would be real curious as to their weight compared to factory stock.

Maverick: The stocks have zero profile sling swivel lugs of stainless steel, deeply and securely anchored into the body of the rifle stock. They work well with a sling. The projecting steel stud is for use with a bipod but you're right about using both at the same time.....not an issue for me as I usually don't hunt with a bipod. Glad to see that there is another Kahles fan out there.....the Helia-C is really nice glass with unsurpassed FOV for a 6x42 scope

roklok: The stocks are reported by WD to be 26-28 ounces although I did not weigh them before putting the rifles together. Both rifles weigh 7 lbs with scopes. The ergonomics of the stock are excellent and fit me well.....nice palm swell too.

Viking499: Both stocks arrived within 4-6 weeks of placing my order. Shipping costs have gone up since I ordered mine last year secondary to extra taxes for international shipping, etc. Mark of WD is a great guy to do business with.

That's pretty neat...should make for a very secure attachment point, and it certainly gives it a streamlined look. The weight isn't bad for a well constructed stock like that one, and I'm certain that you could use it for a club without worries. ;)
