Tikka T3x Superlite or...?

I may start a war, but I would not start a young person on a 6.5 Creedmoor. I find wind drifting can be an issue
with the 6.5 depending on the bullet size. If the kid wants a dependable, accurate rifle, a .308 would be my choice. Ammo for .308 is easier to come by right now. And the .308 has proved itself time and time again.
And I find the Tikka, the best rifle one can buy for under $1,000.

If you don’t like the wind drift of a 6.5 creedmoor, you will hate the wind drift of a 308.

I think the tikka will be excellent for what you want. The bedding system and integrated mount system on the tikka make it a repeatable non maintenance platform. I have about a 20 year old one in 25/06 and it never ever needs adjustment. A real set it and forget it rifle. Over any other rifle I own that is the one I would trust to come out of the safe and make a hit with. 6.5C makes good sense. Good ballistics and excellent ammo selection.
