Looks like Top Shot comes back on the 9th of august! Seems awfully soon!

I know some think its over dramatic and such, but it is good to have shooting shows out there that are popular.

Would be nice to see some cool NFA type guns this season. I wish they would shoot the guns they had in the little intro vid before the episodes. Last season they had a CETME, an AK, a PKM, and an SVD...and never shot them :D

Looking forward to it. I hated it at first but it represents the 2nd amendment and the world of firearms in a positive light, and has real life everyday people on there, as well as professional competition shooters. It's better than nothing.

It'll get DVR'd, and if the drama gets to be too much, skip ahead to the shooting.

The show is shot in California, I have asked myself with the draconian gun laws, how they have gotten away with some of the guns they've had on the show.

IIRC, the Barrett M82 .50 rifle is illegal in CA.

"IIRC, the Barrett M82 .50 rifle is illegal in CA." - As with most bans I'm sure it only applies to the 'unwashed masses'. With proper law enforcement supervision I'm sure they can get whatever they want to shoot. (shoot, not own!)

Sweet! I really like TopShot, despite the BS they kept coming up with last time

I have no qualms admitting that I loved the previous two seasons of Top Shot.

I loved George last season. Comes across as such a grade-A <removed>, but turns out to be a pretty stand up guy at the end. That guy could seriously shoot though. I see most of the competitors on that show though, and their skills don't exactly blow me away.

As an Air Force guy, I was rooting for both Ashley and George last season. But George's attitude early in the show really made me dislike him, even though he could put rounds down range. He had a big mouth, an ego the size of Texas, but he could back it up. He ended up proving me wrong when he threw the game at the end for the guy who eventually won it all. I gained a lot more respect for George for that.

Ashley was honestly a disappointment with his shooting skills. And his attitude late in the game made me dislike him.

I'm looking forward to the new season, everyone in the house seems to enjoy the show too. I could do without the fabricated drama, but I realize that is what keeps shows like this going.

WOO HOO, I love me some Top Shot, yea its got drama but with my digital streaming device, i fast forward to the practices and challenges. Hopefully no <removed> this season

I love Top Shot, and a lot of other people at work have gotten hooked on it too. It gets people interested in shooting and shooting sports and portrays them in a positive light. IMHO its doing a great service for public awareness.

Plus don't they have filming licenses for that sort of thing?
Another thing I just thought of: The SVD is banned by name in California, yet they had one in the intro vid for each episode, George was holding it. I wonder how they worked that one.

I thought I read at one time Barrett wouldn't sell to CA law enforcement because of the civilian ban?

But I do like the show!

I like Top Shot, and my (non-shooting) wife loves it. When she asks if I shoot like that, I smile and say "Sure". Of course my range has zip lines and exploding targets

Still, it's much better than "Son's of ..."

Of course my range has zip lines and exploding targets

Having looked at them, I'm convinced that the exploding targets they use are simply tannerite. It's legal and fairly inexpensive. I've thought about setting up a few targets like that for grins and giggles :).

totally hooked on TS. As pointed out, it's better than a sharp stick in the eye (or "twilight", or whatever..)

looks to be better this season than last. where do they find all these "homeland security agents"??? to the best of my knowledge, there is no bureau of homeland security agent program. unless these guys are attached to agencies within DHS and choose not to broadcast the particulars. maybe they're air marshalls.
